Today... I smudged!!

Smudged?

Smudging is an ancient sacred ceremony to clear away negative energy and lift your spirits.
I found out about smudging (and bought my white sage stick) from the lovely lady that i go to for acupuncture at Sanjo in Buckhurst Hill

The correct process, which i failed to read until after i has smudged is to..

light your smudge with a candle (i used several matches during my process as my smudge kept going out - too much negativity in my flat i presume. (note must smudge more often to keep pesky negativity out)
Have heat-proof dish, such as an abalone shell (i used a denby pasta bowl)
fan smoke over yourself (i completely missed this step, however at times i was in the smoke whilst keeping stick alight. does that count?)
Start and your front door and walk clockwise round your house wafting the smudge paying particular attention to the corners where am told negative energy gathers. I tried to think happy whilst doing this (the pitfalls were that am quite short so wafting high in the air produced a few ash fallings that missed being caught in the pasta bowl and thus happy thoughts momentarily gone whilst searching for fallen ash, note smudging may carry an element of danger so please only try when responsible adult is around, preferably one that has not yet started on the wine ..
walk all round, ending back at your front door.

i put my stick out so i can use it again. you can leave it to burn out on its own. I am also going to give my ash to the bush outside to say thank you.

Now i have to be honest, i instantly felt better and more positive. Who knows it may be the ritual or it may just be the smell from the sage. but right now, i feel brimming with positivity.
