Zell am See in Austria is a great ski resort. Accessible easily by train from Salzburg which makes the ski holiday relatively cheaper - very big plus point as in recent years our ski holidays have been crushed by the expensive taxi trasfers.

The slopes are friendly and good for all range of skiers - the glacier being the choice for the more brave.

The traffic-free centre has a wintry picture-postcard feel about it, with quaint cafés and a collection of traditional restaurants.  And once again i think we tried the prosseco in EVERY quaint little bolthole....

Ski tip

Better than a beginner at ski-ing but not quite there yet to feel confident to do a red straight from a year ago..

then my advice would be to ski the first morning but book a private lesson for the afternoon of your first day. You will have found your ski legs and worked out what you cant remember about ski-ing from last year. A little afternoon ski lesson can correct your technique right away leaving you quite confident for the rest of your mini break

July 2017

I am lucky that a very good friend of mine spent the summer here renting an apartment, so my accomodation was free and i managed a few trips there throughout the summer.

I fell in love, from London its a weekend destination. Less than an hour from the airport (20mins if you arrive late without any traffic). A beautiful city that also has a beach, all walking distance!! What more could you ask for.

Barcelona  Travel Tip

Drink Cava! Cocktails are expensive and the cava is divine (and cheaper)

You dont need heels in barcelona, leave them at home. Thats not to say you dont need that little short cocktail dress, but pair with cute little flats as the Spanish boys do like to whirl you round the dance floor

March 2017

Courmayeur is a great location for a long weekend ski trip as its only approx. 1hr 30mins (give or take 10 mins) from both Geneva and Turin and is situated at the foot of Mont Blanc

The skiing is divided into two main areas, Plan Checrouit the Val Veny ski area which are easily navigated by two girls who are directionally challenged!!   Major plus point there!

The village of Courmayeur has beautiful cobbled streets and cute little shops and cafe bars to enjoy the après ski, i can vouch for the delicious prosecco in many of these little bars. And so many great restaurants to eat in in the evenings, but note, book them up in advance on the day you arrive.

Ski Travel Tip

With ski-ing its the one trip of the year that your bag is generally bulging from the sheer amount of warm clothes you feel you need to take. Pack your bag then take half out.. really you CAN wear that jumper 3 days in a row.. under your ski jacket NO ONE is going to know or care. and you rarely bump into the same people twice..and if you do it usually after one to many gluhwein when all sense of smell is gone and only love is in the air!

October 2016

I took a trip with a group of friends to the fabulous NYC for a 40th birthday celebration. I love New York City. I have previously lived there, and will never grow tired of this City. I plan many more trips back

Travel Tip

Preparing for my trip...

i bought 2 identical linen tee-shirts from Gap. I wore one while travelling and took the other in my handbag and change just before the flight lands.

i do this on all long haul flights as it makes me feel fresh and clean without much effort
